SOUTH CAROLINA
Check out the weather in Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina has quickly become one of the most popular vacation destinations in the United States. Because there is so much to do there, it is a great place to go regardless of the season. In the summer, the beach remains the biggest draw for visitors. However, the shopping, shows, golf. dining, and attractions beckon visitors all year round.
Acclaimed for its golf courses, the Grand Strand has over 100 courses for the visitor to enjoy. Yet there’s so much more than golf to enjoy. To state that Myrtle Beach has something for everyone is to state the facts. From beach activities to clubbing to amusement parks, deep sea fishing, shows and shopping, Myrtle Beach guarantees even the most critical traveler a wonderful time.
The Beach
The Myrtle Beach coastline seems endless, stretching almost 60 miles from end to end. Even if you don’t stay on the beach, it’s easy to reach from any location in the Myrtle Beach area. In the summer, jet skis, wave runners, surfboards and fishing expeditions abound. There is no end to the water activities you’ll find at your fingertips. The weather is fine for sunning from spring through fall and many restaurants have special dining rooms that overlook the water. Two favorites on the south side are the Conch Café which is a restored wooden white house where you literally sit on the porch over the beach and Damon’s – the place for ribs where glass is all that separates you from the sand.
Shopping
Of course, you will find the normal T-shirt shops you would see in any beach town. What distinguishes Myrtle Beach are the number and variety of outlets and specialty shops you’ll be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. Tanger Outlet is a large outlet center, malls are prevalent and the specialty shops of Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing are unique.
The Pavilion Amusement Park
Located on Ocean Boulevard, this seasonal attraction is one of the most popular for children. With over 35 rides including water rides, roller coasters and an extensive boardwalk, the Pavilion is centrally located and packed with fun.
Ripley’s Aquarium
Located at Broadway at the Beach, the Aquarium is a Myrtle Beach “must-see”. From fish to sharks, the exhibits are beautiful as well as informative. Open year round and of interest to all ages, take your kids or just yourselves to an enjoyable and leisurely few hours walking through the aquarium.
